Badalona Serveis Assistencials (BSA), in Spain, has received a Stage 4 – the highest ranking for all healthcare organisations that the company has surveyed so far – on HIMSS Analytics’ Continuity of Care Maturity Model (CCMM), marking it out as a global leader in the way it uses information technology to provide patient care.
The global maturity model reports a care community’s maturity in terms of eight stages (Stage 0 ‘low maturity’ to Stage 7 ‘high maturity’). BSA’s rating (along with a compliance achievement of 76%) means that BSA tops the scale on Continuity of Care worldwide.
Jordi Piera Jimenez, CIO at BSA, said: “Through the CCMM assessment, we have been able to gain an understanding of our level of integration among care levels which is a key element due to the nature of our organisation. An analysis of the results has allowed us to set up a pathway for future improvements which will hopefully position us at a level of unprecedented integration.”
