Badalona is a seaside town that lies 6 miles away from Barcelona. Badalona Serveis Assistencials, with a comprehensive view on healthcare, is set up in this town of health in order to provide an effective assistance and to respond to people’s needs. One of the main goals of this town -the third one in population size in Catalonia- and BSA is to become reference site in the field of health.
In fact, rendering integrated care services means covering all person’s care needs. This is the challenge that drives BSA every day, a municipal organization that provides health services and care to the dependents to the citizens of Barcelonès Nord and Baix Maresme, to promote, preserve and restore individual and collective health, and promote the general welfare of its inhabitants. With 10 centres and more than a thousand professionals providing services to a population of over 435,000 people in its region, BSA is the municipal commitment to a quality healthcare and attention to the dependents.
Its history dates back to 1932, the year in which the Hospital Municipal de Badalona was set up. After several decades in operation, the institution was consolidated at the end of the 1970s, with the support of the local administration, commencing its evolution towards what it has become today: an integrated care organisation. Today, BSA continues to grow and develop. And all of this evolution is possible because of the professionals in the organisation and the permanent will to innovate, the two pillars upon which BSA is founded, making its mission a reality: offering quality care that is close to people.
